What do the buttons on my screen do?

Here is a breakdown of the buttons/functions you will see while proctoring:
UNLOCK: Use when a student is ready to begin.

  1. Find the student in the table
  2. Click Unlock
  3. The status changes to Unlocked


RESUME: Use when a student's test has closed for whatever reason and they need to re-enter the exam session.
Examples:

  • Frozen screen
  • Lost internet
  • Browser crash
  • Idle timeout
  • Cheating indicator triggered
  1. Find the student
  2. Click Resume
  3. Choose a reason (optional)
  4. Confirm
The test returns to Unlocked and the student can begin again.


CANCEL UNLOCK: Use when you unlocked the test erroneously (i.e., wrong test, student not present) and need to cancel the unlock .

SUSPEND: Use when you need to immediately stop a
test session that is In Progress. Only exams with an In Progress status
can be suspended.
Examples:

  • Testing irregularity
  • Student must stop for non-technical reasons

  1. Click the student’s row
  2. Choose Suspend Exam
  3. Confirm
The test returns to Paused and must be unlocked again to continue.


RESET PASSWORD: Use when a student, who is already registered, can not remember their password. 

  1. Open the student’s details
  2. Click Reset Password
  3. Share the temporary password with the student. They will be asked to set a new password after successfully logging in with  the temporary password
